For the youngsters their initial camping out venture is just a few steps into the garden. There’s nothing quite as stimulating to a youngster as pitching a tent and sleeping in the open-air, relatively independent of the house. Kids love to camp in the back yard, and many times it give moms and dads the surety of being able to see them and look in on them. Kids will often feel that the regulations of the house do not apply to them when they are camping out. When you camp in your backyard it is great for getting your child used to camping out, and it will make it simpler on him for the first real camping trip. A good way to instruct a child about camping is to start out in the backyard. This will show them that there is little go wrong.

The tent is the essential ingredient to any yard camping out adventure. Youngsters like having their own private space and a tent represents just that. Let your youngsters pitch their own tents and let them do alone so that they get the satisfaction and sense of accomplishment. A small tent put up by a youngster fills him or her with pride, even if it is a little shaky. It really does feel like “grown-up” camping out. Yard camping doesn’t need to be anything particular, just a small tent and sleeping bag will do. There are many things that could be taught to kids such as knot tying or lessons to be used on a real camping excursion. This is the best chance to introduce a child to a camping out excursion prior to a real one.

The most exhilarating and challenging time when camping in your yard is nighttime. You can also spend time gazing up at the stars with your youngster and teach him some basics of astronomy. Camping out is great for taking time with your youngsters and you don’t have any of the regular, daily distractions. Youngsters can be taught camp songs and told funny camping stories by you. Prepare your kids for the novelty of sleeping anywhere other than their familiar bedroom. Kids have rich imaginations. Dad’s snoring can easily become a growling bear and rustling leaves can spell danger.

Camping out in your yard is a great way to introduce the kids to the joys of camping. You may wish to start camping out in your back yard as a family tradition. Camping in your own back yard gives your family the opportunity to reconnect and enjoy the company of each other.
